The hero

A tale as old as time
A hero in his prime

A band of brothers and his faithful steed
support him in his quests as he takes the lead.

They set out on a journey to rescue a girl
knowing the perils that may unfurl

Our hero swooped in like the knight that he is
hoping to win with that courage of his
but to his amazement the girl was free
no shackles or chains or prison could he see

The damsel was captive of a malformed troll
In a different kind of prison...he held her soul
Our hero knew not of this legendary curse
nor how trying to rescue her, could make it worse.

And so he spent each day
thinking things had gone his way
this girl whom he saw as so true and pure
he felt was his life, his heart ,his cure

but one day he learnt that not all was right
with this girl, who he loved and who showed him the light

He could not convince her to stay
it seemed her heart and soul were still locked away

The troll had tainted the beauty within
and intwined the lives of the maiden and him

and so a new quest our hero did start
seeking to free his fair maiden's heart...
